The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings March 13 at District Judge Robert Ford's office in Leetsdale:

Waived

  • Frederick Schneider, 59, of Leetsdale, charged with resisting arrest, making terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct, prohibitive offensive weapon. reported officers were called Feb. 3 to Mike’s Place for a man involved in a fight who was refusing to leave. Police said Schneider took out a cigarette and started smoking in the bar. He was told there was no smoking allowed and began using profanities at everyone in the bar. Police said patrons struggled to get Schneider outside. During his arrest, police found a pocket knife with a push button. Police said Schneider made threats against the officer and his family. He was taken to the Coraopolis police department where he again resisted and fought with police, police said.
  • David Moore, 49, of Cranberry Township, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Franklin Park police reported Moore’s vehicle was seen Jan. 9 swerving on Interstate 79 at Route 910. He was administered a blood-alcohol test, but police did not report the results.
  • Chaley Barnes, 32, of Butler, charged with theft, forgery, access device fraud and receiving stolen property. Franklin Park police reported that Barnes stole checks from her boyfriend’s family, forged a check for $300 and was captured on video attempting to cash the check at a bank. The checks were reported stolen on Feb. 23.

  • Christopher Lenihan, 18, of Pittsburgh, charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Franklin Park police reported Lenihan was one of several passengers in a car stopped Jan. 22 on Rochester Road at Camp Meeting Road. Police during a search found a bag of marijuana and a pipe in a bag that Lenihan said belonged to him. He was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and drug and alcohol rehab.
  • Darlene S. Powers, 50, of McKees Rocks, charged with providing false identification to police. Sewickley Heights police said Powers was a passenger in a pickup that was stopped March 1 on Water Works Road. She gave police a fake name, but a Sewickley police officer immediately identified her. Police said Powers apologized for lying. She pleaded guilty to reduced count of disorderly conduct and was credited with time served.

  • Edward Bacon, 48, of Sewickley, charged with simple assault and harassment. reported that Bacon on March 5 picked a woman up by her neck and off her feet and choked her.
  • Trent Simon, 19, of Leet Township, charged with two counts each of simple assault, and one count of harassment and making terroristic threats. said Simon got into an argument, became enraged and threw keys at the person. He also threatened a newborn baby and destroyed property.
  • Jacob Fetterolf, 18, of Sewickley Heights, charged with defiant trespass and flight to avoid apprehension. reported an officer on Feb. 25 found a sport utility vehicle crashed into a fence and several trees on Glen Mitchell Road. As the officer approached the car and identified himself as a borough policeman, the driver slid to the passenger side and began to run into the dark, snow-covered woods. Police went to the home and spoke to Fetterolf’s parents, who identified him as the person driving the vehicle.
