Fire Sparks in Sewickley Heights Home

Aleppo Township Fire Chief said no one was injured.

No one was injured Friday morning when a small fire started in the basement of a home in Sewickley Heights.

Aleppo Fire Chief Bill Davis said some contractors were at 511 Hillside Drive doing renovation work when the small electrical fire started about 11 a.m.

"It wasn't that bad. It was a small fire in the basement," he said.

Davis said the Allegheny County fire marshal was called in to do a preliminary investigation because the two-story house is under construction with multiple contractors working there.

Ohio Township volunteer firefighters also assisted.
