Hearing Postponed for Moon Mother Charged in Drug Sting

Moon Township mother and son will face hearings in July at Coraopolis District Court.

The preliminary hearing for a Moon Township woman and former daycare worker has been postponed until July. 

Pamela Smallis, 48, will appear July 24 in Coraopolis District Court for a preliminary hearing, according to court records. Her hearing slated for Tuesday was postponed. 

Smallis was charged April 19 with child endangerment and possession with intent to deliver drugs following a months-long  investigation.

Police said Smallis on one occasion used her children to sell drugs out of her Stocker Drive home and on two occasions in Sewickley.  One of her children, who is a minor, sold prescription drugs and marijuana to undercover police informants, according to a police statement.

Smallis' 19-year-old son Richard is also charged by police with conspiracy, drug delivery and two counts of possession with intent to deliver drugs in connection to the sting. He too will appear for a preliminary hearing July 24.

Police said Smallis, who previously worked at a Beaver County daycare center, met with informants at the Allegheny County Port Authority Park 'n Ride, to sell them prescription drugs, including Valium, muscle relaxants and painkillers.
