16-year-old girl taken to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County police are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was injured in North Park Monday evening, according to KDKA.

The teen was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where she is being treated for head and leg injuries, KDKA reported. Police told KDKA the girl is too upset to talk about what happened.

Police said they do not know how she was hurt because they have not spoken to the victim yet. Authorities said they are investigating all possibilities.

Search dogs were in the park to retrace the girl's steps, police said.

Authorities said a woman and her daughter found the teen near a tree just before 6 p.m. Monday night in North Park, according to WPXI.
