Leetsdale Police Charge Man with Assaulting a Sewickley Officer

Jesse C. Glasser, 22, of Ambridge, also charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

An Ambridge man is facing charges after Leetsdale police said he fought with police and assaulted an officer during a recent traffic stop.

charged Jesse C. Glasser, 22, with aggravated assault for kicking a Sewickley patrolman in the chest. He also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest, reckless driving and failing to obey a stop sign.

According to police, a Leetsdale officer stopped Glasser’s car Saturday after the officer saw the car run a stop sign at the intersection of Cross and Beaver streets.

and police assisted with administering a field sobriety test, which police said Glasser had trouble performing. Police said Glasser also tested positive for alcohol on a portable breathalyzer.

Leetsdale police drove Glasser to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital for a blood-alcohol draw. Police said Glasser refused the test and fought with officers, refused to move his legs, and kicked Sewickley Police Patrolman Doug Maust in the chest as officers attempted to put him in the back of a police vehicle.

Glasser was pulled into the police vehicle through the other side and taken to Coraopolis Police Department’s lockup. Once there, police said, he refused to get out of the car and had to be pulled out of the vehicle.

Police said Glasser swung a belt at a Coraopolis officer, nearly hitting the policeman in the face with the buckle. He was restrained and placed into the holding cell.
