The owner of Triangle Pet Control Services, and one of its long-time employees, have been charged in connection with the death of a dog picked up last month in Ross Township, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports.

Triangle owner Bernard Dudash and kennel manager Paul McIntyre are each charged with failing to provide veterinary care for the dog, a medium-sized brown and white mixed breed, which died in a cage at the McKees Rocks kennel, the PG reported.

If convicted, Dudash and McIntyre face a maximum fine of $750 and/or up to 90 days in jail.

According to records examined by the Post Gazette, a state dog warden told employees on Oct. 1 that the dog was emaciated and needed veterinary care. The dog did not receive treatment and died in its cage on Oct. 4, according to the Humane Society.

Triangle Pet's license had been suspended on Oct 1, and the dead dog was discovered when other dogs in the kennel were moved to other shelters. 

Triangle is prohibited from boarding, euthanizing, selling or acquiring dogs pending the outcome of a Dec. 4 hearing in Harrisburg, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports.
