No Injuries in Quaker Valley School Bus Crash in Edgeworth

A school bus carrying Quaker Valley students colides with a car on Little Sewickley Creek Road.

A school bus carrying 16 Quaker Valley middle and high school students was involved in an accident on Little Sewickley Creek Road in Edgeworth.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 3 p.m. today when a female driver ended up on the wrong side of the road and her car collided with the bus.

Edgeworth police said the bus driver noticed the car, driven by Nancy Carson of Sewickley, edging over the center line. The bus came almost to a complete stop when the car came around and struck the bus, police said. Had the bus driver not stopped, police said the accident could have been more serious.

Neither Carson nor the bus driver was injured, police said. Cochran Hose Fire Co. also responded.

Quaker Valley spokeswoman Tina Vojtko said no one was hurt and no one required medical attention at the scene. Parents were notified, and some opted to picked up their children. The bus continued on its route, she said.

"We're just glad all the kids are OK," Vojtko said.

Police cited Carson for failing to drive on the right side of the road.
