Leetsdale Police Cite Pair in Pork Chops Theft

Police said the man and woman walked out with nearly $100 in pork chops from the Leetsdale supermarket.

Leetsdale police cited the pair accused of stealing $77 worth of pork chops from the Giant Eagle in Leetsdale. 

Leetsdale police said James A. Cook, 33, and Patricia Williams, 38, both of Beaver Street, were cited with retail theft. 

Police responded around 5 p.m. Dec. 14 to a report of a male who walked out of Giant Eagle pushing a cart full of unbagged groceries. Police said witnesses last saw the couple walking northbound on Route 65.

Police located Cook and Williams on the north end of Broad Street in Leetsdale.

Police said Cook had attempted to conceal the pork chops by wrapping them between newspaper. Police said Williams had the merchandise, and both were cited as a first offense.

Edgeworth and Sewickley police assisted with the arrest.
