Police: Yard Signs Stolen from Leetsdale Neighborhood

Leetsdale police are investigating the thefts.

The is investigating a theft after the police said someone stole more than a dozen from residences in the borough.

Police Chief James Santucci said 15 signs were taken overnight Thursday from various residences in the area of the 700 block of Beaver Street, near the high school.

The yellow signs read: "Save Tax Dollars. Stop QV From Taking Leetsdale Homes for a Parking Lot."

District officials are working to purchase three properties neighboring the high school . Conceptual plans are to build a bus turnaround, separate student drop-off area for parents and a parking lot.

The signs are in to the district's property acquisitions and have been popping up in neighborhoods around Leetsdale as well as other district communities.

Santucci said taking the signs is theft.
