Police: Suspicious Man Approaches Girl, Chases Her Home

Sewickley police said the girl was outside her home when the man stopped to talk to her.

A man accosted a Sewickley teenager recently then chased her into her home when she began to run away from him, Sewickley police reported.

Police said the man was walking south shortly before 10:30 p.m. Dec. 27 on Washington Street when he stopped on the sidewalk at the end of the teen's driveway and said, “hi sweetie, how are you doing?”

At this time, the 13-year-old picked up her dog and began to move toward the house when the male began to run after her, police said.

Police said the girl ran into the house and told her mother, who called the Sewickley police station first but received no answer.

Police were dispatched and searched the area for a person matching the description but with negative results.

Police advised the family--and the public-- to always call 911 immediately during an emergency.
