Police: Woman Reports Theft from YMCA Locker

Sewickley police said the incident is the latest in a string of YMCA thefts.

Sewickley police are again warning the public to lock up their belongings after receiving another theft report on Monday from the Sewickley Valley YMCA.

Police said a 24-year-old woman reported that someone took a red leather purse and a Vera Bradley wristlet from her unsecured locker.

The purse contained a credit card, insurance card and gift cards and the wristlet contained $100, an identification card and a credit card, police said.

Police said the theft occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and is the incidentto be reported in recent weeks.

Sewickley police are urging everyone to lock up their belongings whenever they exercise.

“I recommend that people make sure their valuables are secured,” said Sewickley Police Chief James Ersher.
