Ross Township Man Accused of Molesting 7-Year-Old

A Ross Township man faces a preliminary hearing next week in on charges he molested his ex-girlfriend’s then 7-year-old daughter.

Brian Horlick, 46, of Boscom Avenue, faces one count of aggravated assault, two counts each of indecent assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

Franklin Park police reported that the first incident against the girl, now 14, occurred about seven years ago when she was 7. Police said the girl was with her mother and Horlick, visiting her great-grandmother in Franklin Park, and had spent the night sleeping between the two adults on the floor.

Police said sometime in the night she woke to find Horlick’s hand down her pajama pants. She removed his hand, and he rolled over in the opposite direction, police said.

When she told her mother in the morning what happened, she told police her mother said she was lying and to “stop being silly.” When asked if she told anyone else, police said the girl responded, “No, because if my mom didn’t believe me, why would anyone else?”

Police said the second incident occurred at Horlick’s Ross Township home when the girl was 9 years old. She told police it was nighttime and she went to bed in a bedroom at the back of the house. Horlick followed the girl and lay down beside her in bed, police said. Police said he began touching her thighs on top of her jeans and wanted her to take them off.

Police said the girl told her biological father in December and was interviewed at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
