Route 65 Reopens After Morning Crash
A driver is taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley following an early-morning crash along Route 65.
Sewickley Police Chief Jim Ersher said slick roads likely led to a one-vehicle crash early this morning on southbound Route 65, causing back-ups for motorists traveling the route.
Ersher said one man was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley following the crash. All lanes on the road have been reopened.
The man lost control of his vehicle at about 6:40 a.m., the chief said. The car struck a utility pole and spun into the northbound lane, where it landed on its side.

Traffic was reduced to one alternating lane while the crash was cleared from the roadway. Duquesne Light will replace the pole later today, Ersher said.

"For the most part the roads have been cleared but there are still a lot of spots that are icy," Ersher said. "Allow yourself a little extra time while you're driving."
