School Board President Involved in Two-Car Crash

Sewickley police reported that Jack Norris was not injured in the collision.

said no one was injured Friday in a collision involving two vehicles, one of which was driven by the president.

The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. in the area of Chestnut and Harbaugh streets.

Police said Jack Norris, 66, of , was westbound on Chestnut Street when James Dougherty, 23, of Finksburg, MD, pulled his car out in front of him.

Norris’ car had front driver-side damage. Police said Norris was a bit shaken and unsure if he was hurt. He was examined by emergency medical staff, who determined that he had no injuries.

Police said Dougherty admitted fault, explaining that he was parked on Chestnut and pulled out in front of Norris after checking his side mirror. He told police he did not see Norris’ car coming, police said.

Police said Dougherty’s car had fender and wheel damage, but he was able to replace the tire with a spare.

Norris has served on the since 2004. He was appointed president in 2007.
