Police said Ramoutar admitted to the burglaries, telling police that he went to the home sometime in October when he thought no one was there, and knocked on the door to be sure. When no one answered, he walked in an unlocked door and stole a tea pot, two candle sticks and a handful of silverware.

Police said Ramoutar admitted to again burglarizing the home in November and taking a handful of silverware. He sold the stolen items to Treasure Hunt in Cranberry Township and Twice Treasured in Sewickley. Police said the stores are assisting with the investigation.

Police said he also admitted perusing Craigslist for ads of people wanting to buy silver and gold. Police received a search warrant for Ramoutar’s home where police found hundreds of empty stamp bags and several items with prices.

Ramoutar is free from Allegheny County Jail on $5,000 bond.
