Two local police departments will serve as collection sites for unwanted drugs.

The Sewickley and Sewickley Heights police departments will take part Saturday, April 27 in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

Sewickley Police Chief James Ersher said the event allows for medications to be properly disposed of on behalf of residents.

“This way people don’t leave their medications in their homes where there’s a chance for abuse,” Ersher said.
