Sons File Lawsuit Against Father, Preservation Group Over Sewickley Heights Estate

A movie starring Channing Tatum was filmed at the estate named in the lawsuit.

Two sons and two other men are suing their father and the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation because they do not want the nonprofit organization operating a portion of the family estate, according to the Tribune Review.

The plaintiffs, J. Brandon Snyder, William P. Snyder V, John C. Oliver III and Yasodhara Arbelaez Snyder, argue that the foundation should not operate Wilpen Hall on Blackburn Road because it breaches a contract to preserve the land as part of a 1969 land agreement, according to the newspaper.

The estate has 10 bedrooms, eight full and four half bathrooms, 12 bathrooms and was built in 1900, according to Allegheny County real estate records.

Another building on the land called "The Little House" is the focus of the lawsuit, according to the report.

The movie Foxcatcher, starring Channing Tatum, was filmed at the estate earlier this year.
