Two People Killed in Vehicle Crash on Route 65

The crash happened when a car skidded sideways into the path of another vehicle, according to WTAE-TV.

WTAE is reporting that two people were killed and two others injured after a car skidded sideways into the path of another vehicle early today on Route 65 in Ben Avon.

The Beaver County Times identified the deceased as 19-year-old David Michael Mooney and 22-year-old Christopher Michael Lantzy, both of New Brighton.

Ohio Township Police Chief Norbert Miklos told WTAE one car carrying the two crossed into the other lane and into the path of another oncoming vehicle.

Investigators believe speed, bald tires and wet roads played a factor. 

Two were killed and one injured in the first car. The driver of the second car had serious injuries.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on a bend near the border of Ben Avon and Emsworth. Route 65 was shut down for hours, but has reopened, WTAE reports
