Unhappily Ever After: Bride Accused of Gunning Down Her Niece at Wedding Party

The bride is being held without bail.

PITTSBURGH — There would be no honeymoon for Jeremy Harvan and his new wife, for as they left their reception at Jimmy K's Bar in New Brighton, just north of Pittsburgh, an argument broke out over who would drive.

For better or worse, the bride took the groom's handgun from his truck last month and shot her 23-year-old niece, Katelyn Francis, to death in the parking lot of the bar, according to police.

Christina George-Harvan has spent the first days of her wedded life in the Beaver County jail. She appeared before a judge on May 2 and was held without bail, charged with one count of homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and one county of reckless endangerment.
