Columbia Gas Holds Meeting to Discuss $1.6 Million Sewickley Project
The gas company will address members of the public at 5:30 p.m. April 3 in the Sewickley Municipal Building.
Columbia Gas in April will begin work on $1.6 million in repairs to aging pipeline infrastructure throughout Sewickley borough.
The utility provider will hold a public meeting to discuss the project, which entails replacing more than 8,000 feet of existing steel pipe with plastic pipe, during a months-long construction process.
Representatives from Columbia Gas will be on hand from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 3 in the second-floor council chamber at the Sewickley Municipal Building, where residents can learn more about the project.

Construction, slated to begin in mid-April, will impact 170 customers. Work will take place on Walnut, Grant, Little, Frederick, Henry, Thorn, Emery, Bank, Ferry and Elwick streets.
New service lines will be installed for impacted customers at no cost and all construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Temporary road closures and limited parking are expected during work hours.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting, according to an announcement by Columbia.
