Here is Warburton's statement announcing the reasons for his candidacy:

"I am a strong believer in the value of education and the importance of a good school district to the entire community.

A good school district brings people into the area and maintains property values. The school board has a duty to our children to help them be the best they can be, a duty to the parents to work as closely as possible with them and a duty to the tax payers to be fiscally responsible with their money.

The QV school district is one of the best around; ranking 14th in the state (US & World, 2013) and I will work hard to push these high standards even higher."
