Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge David N. Wecht wins in state Superior Court race.

Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court

 

With nearly 100 percent of precincts from throughout the state reporting vote counts, Republican Anne E. Covey this morning defeated Democratic challenger Kathryn Boockvar in the race for a seat on Pennsylvania's Commonwealth Court.

Covey, of New Hope, Bucks County, is an attorney and the first female member of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. By Wednesday morning, she had 966,441 votes, or 52.4 percent of the votes counted.

Boockvar, of Doylestown, Bucks County, is an attorney and arbitrator. By Wednesday morning, she had 879,073 votes, or 47.6 percent of the votes counted by that point.

Pennsylvania Superior Court

With nearly 100 percent of precincts from throughout the state reporting, Democratic candidate David N. Wecht  defeated Republican challenger Victor P. Stabile in the race for a seat on Commonwealth Court.

Wecht, of Squirrel Hill, is an Allegheny County Common Pleas Court judge, a law professor and former Allegheny County Register of Wills and Orphan's Court Clerk. By Wednesday morning, he had gathered 1,017,499 or 54.6 percent of the percent of the votes counted.

Stabile, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, is an attorney and former litigator in the state Attorney General's office.  By early today, he had gathered 842,667 votes, or 45.5 percent of the votes counted.
