Election Petitions Now Available

Sewickley Valley candidates looking to run for an open seat in the primary election can pick up a petition.

Petitions are now available for potential candidates planning to run for office in the May 17 primary election. 

Petitions are available through the Allegheny County Elections Division. Candidates cannot begin circulating the petitions until Feb. 15 and must submit them on March 8. 

Nominating petitions can be obtained from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the county office building at 542 Forbes Ave. in Downtown Pittsburgh. The elections division is on the sixth floor of the building.

Due to changes in the Pennsylvania Election Code, petitions issued in Allegheny County in prior years cannot be used by candidates in this year's election cycle, according to a statement from the County Elections Division.

Quaker Valley School Board

School Director

Region I - one four-year term

Region II - two four-year terms

Region III - two four-year terms

Aleppo Township 

Commissioners - two four-year terms; one two-year term

Bell Acres

Council - three four-year terms

Edgeworth 

Auditor - six-year term; and two-year term

Glenfield

Auditor - one four-year term; one six-year term

Council - three four-year terms; one two-year term

Glen Osborne

Council - three four-year terms; one two-year term

Haysville

Mayor - two year term

Tax collector - two year term

Leetsdale

Council - one two-year term; three four-year terms

Leet Township

Commissioners  - three four-year terms

Sewickley 

Tax collector - two-year term

Council - First Ward - one four-year term; Second Ward - one four-year term; Third Ward - one four-year term

Sewickley Heights

Council - two two-year terms; three four-year terms

Sewickley Hills 

Council - two four-year terms
