Rothfus to Speak at GOP Convention

Candidate for Congress Keith Rothfus is scheduled to address the delegates Tuesday at the Republican National Convention.

Rothfus, of Sewickley, was originally scheduled to speak Monday, but the slate of scheduled events was cancelled Monday due to Tropical Storm Isaac, which is forecast to pass through Florida through Tuesday. Rothfus is challenging U.S. Rep. Mark Critz in November for the .

According to a report on Rothfus' website, his five-minute speech will focus mainly on healthcare reform, specifically repealing the .

Rothfus tweeted to followers on Monday,"Getting ready for 2morrow's speech on the need 2 repeal Obamacare 2 save Medicare & create jobs in a new economy."

Rothfus wasn't planning to attend the convention before he was asked to speak, but he said his selection is an honor. Rothfus is a one of his motivations for the healthcare-centered speech, according to the report.
