I-79 Ramp Improvements to Route 65 Begin Wednesday in Glenfield

This work was originally planned to begin last week, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

PennDOT plans work to apply protective sealants on the ramps from northbound Interstate 79 to Route 65 (Ohio River Boulevard) at the Glenfield Interchange (Exit 66) in Glenfield Borough.

Work will begin on Wednesday, May 2 weather permitting.

Ramps will remain open with traffic shifted around the work areas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through mid-May.

Motorists are advised to use caution on the ramps and expect changing traffic patterns.

The work is part of an overall project that started in 2009 to improve the I-79 Neville Island Bridge-Route 65 interchange (Exit 66) and approaching roadways. The prime contractor for the project is Swank Associated Companies, Inc. of New Kensington PA.
