Leetsdale Route 65 Lane Closures Begin Tuesday

Motorists can expect restrictions in both directions of Route 65 at Cross Street in Leetsdale.

As crews continue reconstruction work on northbound Route 65 in Leetsdale, southbound lanes restrictions will also take place beginning Tuesday, Dec. 4.

PennDOT spokesman James Struzzi said southbound restrictions are needed for safety and access as crews continue full-depth concrete reconstruction in the Cross Street intersection area. 

Southbound single-lane closures will occur according to the following schedule:

  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4.
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 7
  • 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 

Northbound Route 65 was restricted to a single lane beginning Friday and lasting around-the-clock through late December.

Additional work includes curb and inlet replacements, asphalt patching, signals and other minor improvements.

The overall $5.1 million, 4.5 mile project on Route 65 includes milling and resurfacing, drainage, guide rail, curbing, signs, signals, structure repairs and other improvements in Emsworth, Sewickley, Edgeworth, Leetsdale and Ambridge boroughs. The prime contractor is Lindy Paving of New Castle.

Overall work will conclude in the spring.
