Leetsdale Council Meeting Lacks Quorum; Meeting Rescheduled for Thursday

Only two members of the council were present at Tuesday's meeting.

Tuesday night's Council meeting lasted from approximately 7 p.m. to 7:01 p.m., just long enough for a call to order and then an immediate adjournment.

Only two council members were present, which wasn't enough for a quorum to conduct a meeting, according to state law.

Councilmen Mike Bajsec and Wes James were the two board members present, and borough manager Paul Scimio was also in attendance. Three members of the community were also in attendance.

On the slate for discussion were several financial issues, including the $2,162,710 proposed budget for 2012. Council also had planned to discuss the $300,000 tax anticipation loan proposal from PNC Bank. The loan would cover the borough’s funds until real estate taxes were collected.
