PennDOT Continues Route 65 Improvements this Weekend

Work between Sewickley and and the Beaver County line continues this weekend.

PennDOT plans to continue work this weekend to improve Route 65 between Sewickley and the Beaver County line will continue this weekend, weather permitting.

Starting Friday, Sept. 14 through Monday, Sept. 17, Crews will be resurfacing Route 65 from Chestnut Street in to the Ambridge line.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction from 8 p.m. on Friday continuously through 6 a.m. on Monday on Route 65, also known as Ohio River Boulevard.

Motorists should expect delays and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

The overall $5.1 million, 4.5 mile project on Route 65 includes milling and resurfacing, drainage, guide rail, curbing, signs, signals, structure repairs and other improvements in Emsworth, Sewickley, , and Ambridge. The prime contractor, Lindy Paving of New Castle, is expected to complete the overall work in spring 2013.
