Photo Gallery: Sewickley Wine Walk a Smashing Hit

Participants were in good spirits Wednesday night at the second annual , which organizers called a big success.

The numbers of attendees were still being counted immediately following the walk. But Alexis Comunale of said all 500 cards prepared for distribution to participants were handed out.

Last year, organizers estimate about 300 to 400 people participated.

For a $5 donation, walkers received a card that detailed the participating wine locations. Each business offered a different sample of wine along with crackers, cheese and other light snacks. As the night progressed, some businesses even ran out of wine due to the crowd.

Every business on the walk contributed a bottle of wine as part of a prize drawing. Two names were drawn at the conclusion of the night and the winners each will receive 17 bottles of wine, Comunale said.
