Route 65 Single-Lane Traffic Begins Tonight in Glenfield

The work begins at 6 p.m. tonight, weather permitting.

Single-lane traffic will occur nightly this week in both directions on Route 65 in the area of the Interstate-79 interchange in Glenfield, according to Penn DOT.

 The work runs today through Friday, April 29, weather permitting. Work will occur from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Saturday morning.

 Jim Struzzi, PennDOT spokesman, said restrictions will also occur on various ramps in the interchange are while crews install pavement markings. All ramps will remain open.

 The work is part of an overall project that started in 2009 to improve the I-79 Neville Island Bridge-Route 65 interchange at Exit 66 and the approaching roadways.

 Work is expected to be completed this spring. The prime contractor for the project is Swank Associated Companies, Inc. of New Kensington, PA.
