Sewickley Real Estate Appeals Still Pending

Sewickley is still awaiting the results of 101 pending Allegheny County reassessment appeals.

Sewickley Manager Kevin Flannery said the decided appeals so far have decreased total property values in town from $472.7 million to about $441.26 million currently.

Flannery said there are 48 refunds due to residents that amounts to $30,023.39. he said checks will be mailed on Tuesday.

The funds will come from the escrow account the borough petitioned the court for and received approval.

Flannery said having 101 outstanding real estate assessment appeals in July is still a lot to have unfinalized. A couple are large residential properties valued well over $1 million, he said.
