Update: Due to inclement weather, this work has been postponed until Monday, Nov. 5.
Road construction crews plan to begin work Monday, Oct. 29 to reconstruct Way Hollow Road in Sewickley Heights, according to Jim Struzzi, PennDOT spokesman.
Struzzi said PennDOT’s Allegheny County maintenance unit will be reconstructing a section of Way Hollow Road between Backbone Road and Woodland Road.
Way Hollow Road will be closed beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Monday continuously for approximately two weeks through mid-November. About 824 vehicles use Way Hollow Road on an average day.
The road will remain open for local traffic only. Through traffic will be detoured using Centennial Avenue to Grove Street to Backbone Road and vice versa.
Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
