Catch that Bus on Time!

Tips to help your child not be rushed and still make it on time for the bus.

Q: My kids and I are always scrambling to make it to the bus stop on time. Any ideas on how to increase our success rate?

A: There is a lot of preparing for the morning that can be done the night before.

Here's a checklist:

-Outfits with all accessories should be laid out.

- Waiting at the door, should be shoes, coat and a fully packed back pack.  Don't forget necessary forms that need to be returned to school.

-Consider packing perishables in your child's lunch bag.  If possible, perishable items can be prepared and stored in the fridge.

-Review the after school schedule/plans with your kids the night before and again at breakfast.

-Prepare the coffee maker so you only have to turn it on in the morning.

-Assemble ingredients into your crock pot for dinner and store in the fridge till morning.

-Use a microwave or cooking timer to get kids moving and motivated to "beat the clock".

-If you work, follow the same checklist;)
