Christmas Cards Re-Purposed!

Christmas Cards Redux

Q: What should I do with this years Christmas cards?  I always feel bad tossing them out but I don't know what else to do.

A:  Here are a few ideas to recycle your cards and relieve yourself of any guilt.

1.) To create a photo collection, begin with a book ring ( available at office supply stores).   In the upper left corner, hole punch your photo cards and thread them through the ring.  Make a cover for the collection marking the year and whalah! See photo.

2.) Another option is to trim down the photo cards to the standard 4x6 size and place them into photo albums.

3.) If you have greeting cards, cut them up to make gift tags or glue them to the front of plain bags in preparation for next year.  Paper recycle any leftover scraps.

4.) Another option is to save your greeting cards for your own future craft projects, donate them to a local girl/boy scout troop or the Creative Reuse store ( part of Construction Junction, Point Breeze, PA).
