Get Ready For the Mr. Quaker Valley Competition

Senior boys will compete for the chance to be crowned prom king.

The Mr. Quaker Valley Pageant will take place Friday, May 6 in the high school auditorium. The competition begins at 7:30 p.m.  and only senior boys are eligible, according to the school district.

Classmates nominated 27 seniors and a National Honor Society selection committee then narrowed that number to 13. Ten of those young men accepted their nominations.  They will be judged in four different rounds:

  1. Their entrance
  2. A talent round
  3. “Minute to Win It” round
  4. Question and Answer round

The first place winner of the pageant will be named prom kind. He will win a crown, a free ticket to the prom, and a check for $150. The second place winner receives $50, and the third place winner wins $25. NHS is sponsoring the event. Money from the ticket sales will be donated to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
