Love and Magic: QV Announces 2012 Prom King and Queen Finalists

A look at Quaker Valley's prom royalty and a Shakespearean theme.

Quaker Valley is gearing up for a “Midsummer Nights Dream,” starting with the announcement of the 2012 royal prom court.

Prom queen candidates are Stevie Bronaugh, Sydney Eyrich, Hannah Kahn, Candice May, Maria Ross, Brianna Fowler, Laura Scimio and Harley Skorpenske.

The prom queen won't be announced until the night of the grand march promenade, which begins at 5:15 p.m. Friday, May 18.

The prom king will be enthroned at 7:30 p.m. this Friday night, May 11 at the Mr. Quaker Valley Pageant, where 12 guys will vie for the crown. 

Finalists are John Comerci, Matt Cooper, Nat Fox, Greg Johnson, Eddie Miller, Luke O’Neill, Joe Peduto, Jacob Puyana, Bly Rougier, Will Shoener, Nick Suiter and Ben Torisky.

The Mr. Quaker Valley competition begins at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets cost $7 in advance and $10 at the door. The National Honor Society sponsors the event, with proceeds being donated to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

The king and queen, and their court, will lead the promenade at the high school before heading over to the Shakespearean-themed prom “Midsummer Nights Dream” at the Double Tree Hotel in Moon Township.
