The Quaker Valley/Sewickley Academy Swimming and Diving team dominated over the weekend, breaking school records and personal bests at the MAC Championship meet at Moon Area High School.

In the end, the overall team and the boys' team floated to the top, becoming MAC champions. The boys' medley relay — Robert Cary, Bobby Francis, Jacob Puyana and Rhet Happel —set a new school record with a time of 1:45.10.  Bobby Francis also set Moon pool and MAC meet records in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.53, and in the 100 breast at 58.43.

"Talk about overcoming adversity," said Coach Sue Morgan, "We had a swimmer out, a couple of unfortunate DQs, yet we still brought home the titles."

Morgan said this was a total team effort and everyone stepped up. Even swimmers who didn't score, dropped and made personal best times, she said.
