Quaker Valley Edges Out Cornell 27-26

The varsity boys team is victorious in a nail-biter season opener.

It was a muggy night in Frank Letteri Stadium as played its season opener against the Cornell Raiders

There were turnovers, blocked punts, stripped balls and fumbles on both sides, but logged his first win when the Quakers emerged the victors in a hard-fought 27-26 battle.

The end of the first quarter saw the Quakers behind 12-0, but QB Burke Moser was able to connect with Jordan Vescio and Joe Peduto in the second quarter to rally to a  20-12 lead at the half.  A Raider touchdown in the third quarter narrowed that gap to 20-18, and another Raider touchdown and two point conversion six minutes into the fourth quarter saw Cornell pull ahead 26-20.
