Quaker Valley Students Advance to Science Olympiad Finals

Quaker Valley students will compete against students from across the state in April at Juanita College.

Quaker Valley's high school and middle school teams will advance to the finals in the Pennsylvania Science Olympiad.

Quaker Valley High School finished third among 28 teams on March 13 during the regional level of the competition, hosted at California University of Pennsylvania.

Students competed in categories ranging from anatomy and physiology and technical problem solving.

The middle school team placed fourth overall after competing among 21 teams.

The teams will compete in the finals on April 26.

High school team members are senior Julian Dech; juniors Axel Gross and Kaylene Kowalski; sophomores Michael Falcone, Addison Gould, Justin Green, Ricky Lagnese, Max Magera, Max Rom, Guillaume Shippee, Andrew Warburton and Caroline Westwood; and freshmen Sabine Gross, Tzarina Shippee, Elizabeth Truchan and Mimi Zipparo.

Middle school team members are eighth grader Beth Fleming; seventh graders Ben Graham, Miriam Levesque, Jake Musial and Sida Wilson; and sixth graders Marin Bishop, Aidan Conry-Murray, JohnRocco Kazalas, Katie Kelly, Ross McKee, Jeevan Pillar, Carson Riker, Lia Warburton, Nina Wiggins and Noah Wiggins.
