QV Implements Temporary Ban on Drinking Water at Edgeworth School

School officials say no further problems have arisen since Tuesday and all tests are coming back fine.

Edgeworth parents and district staff received an e-alert Tuesday after Quaker Valley school officials found discolored water at .

"The use of water for drinking and food preparation was immediately suspended. Samples of water were sent for testing," the alert said.

After consulting with the  and a plumbing contractor, the preliminary analysis revealed no cause for concern.

Martha Smith, district spokeswoman, said no more problems have arisen and all tests are coming back fine.

Smith said water in the cafeteria comes from a separate source and there was never a problem with food preparation.

The alert said until further tests are completed, the water at the elementary school will not be used for drinking. Bottled water was being provided for students during the interim.
