QV Varsity Football Coach Resigns

Bob McIntyre cites family and personal reasons for his departure.

s varsity football coach has tendered his resignation, according to school district officials.

Bob McIntyre resigned from his position as football coach after serving as head coach this past season. He cited family and personal reasons for his resignation, school officials said.

McIntyre, of Pittsburgh, said he enjoyed the Quaker Valley program,  but needed to make time to meet some obligations in his personal life.

"You just, you have to prioritize," he said.

Michael Mastroianni, athletic and activities director, accepted his resignation with regret.

“I thank Coach McIntyre for his leadership; we appreciate the time he took to develop the team this year and their growth can be attributed to his efforts,” Mastroianni said in a news release.

McIntyre, a former Central Catholic assistant coach, was hired in 2009 and spent one year as Quaker Valley's coach, ending the season with a 1-8 record.

The district will conduct an immediate search for a head coach in an effort to fill the position before summer.
