Kellem was diagnosed with a rare bone disorder at birth. Although he faced obstacles of his bone disorder--more than 40 broken bones and more than 12 operations--he graduated from Edinboro University with a degree in sports administration, coached for a wheelchair basketball team and played second base for Pittsburgh’s only wheelchair competitive softball team.
