Whiz Kids: WPIAL Names Two QV Students Among Scholar Athletes

Quaker Valley was the only high school to have two scholar athletes selected.

Among the 20 students named "Scholar Athletes," WPIAL has selected two Quaker Valley seniors to receive scholarships.   

Sarah Miller won one of the two $5,000 scholarships awarded to the top tier of female scholar athletes and Nat Fox won one of the eight $500 scholarships awarded to the second tier of male athletes.

Miller competes in cross country and lacrosse and Fox competes in cross country and track. Both have maintained grade point averages placing them on distinguished honor roll for all four years of .

The two were selected from 80 females and 76 male students who were nominated by their schools.

Mike Mastroianni, , said he was pleased that both nominees he submitted were awarded scholarships.
