QV Senior Receives Steel City Sports Honor for Hockey

Steel City Sports recognizes high school students who have excelled both in the classroom, in sports and through community service

A Quaker Valley senior and hockey player is the recipient of a Steel City Sports High School award.

Clayton Bouchard was one of only 18 students from the region honored May 25 at the Steel City Sports awards banquet. The Steel City Sports High School Award  recognizes high school students who have excelled both in the classroom, in sports and through community service. 

Clayton was recognized for his accomplishments in hockey and his academic and community involvement activities.

He was Quaker Valley High School's "Most Valauble Player" in 2013 and captain of this year's team, which he helped guide to the state championships finals (record of 25-1) after their state championship last year.

Clayton was also cited for his NAPHL All-Academic teams in 2012 and 2013 as well as a number of other honors, including National Honor Society, Distinguished Honor Roll four years, and eight time letterman and scholar athlete, respectively.

He has been accepted into the University of Notre Dame for the fall semester and has been invited to try out for the Notre Dame baseball team. Clayton is also a member of the high school baseball team, which has advanced to the PIAA state championships. 

He is the son of James and Carolyn Bouchard of Sewickley.
