'Barefoot Contessa' to Appear at Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens Gala in Sewickley Heights

Ina Garten, also known as Barefoot Contessa, is the honorary chairperson for "The Hamptons in The Heights," a summer benefit supporting the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.

Ina Garten, the No. 1 New York Times best-selling author and popular Barefoot Contessa TV show host, will be in town this weekend as the honorary chairwoman for the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden's summer gala.

"The Hamptons in The Heights" will take place Saturday, June 1 at Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley Heights.

The Hamptons in The Heights is a sumptuous celebration of summer benefitting the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden's living treasure in the Robinson area.

The event is designed to celebrate the glories of summer--fresh air, fresh foods, fresh gardens and landscapes, refreshing drinks and the gathering of community.

Indoor and outdoor spaces will come alive, inspired by the fabled Hamptons communities, for a casually elegant evening featuring cocktails, live entertainment, a strolling supper, auction items and croquet on the lawn.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the opening phases of the garden.

The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is coming to life on nearly 500 acres of land along the Parkway West near Settler’s Cabin Park, about 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.

By area, this will be one of the largest botanic gardens in the United States and the only garden in the United States built on reclaimed land.
