Crescent Girl Launches Costume Drive for Kids

Grace Bear hopes to collect 100 costumes by Tuesday, Oct. 15.

A Crescent Township girl wants to make sure other kids can enjoy Halloween, and she has only 10 days left to reach her goal.

Grace Bear, CEO of Grace n'Motion, started "Gn'M Costumes for Kids" this year to help those less fortunate.

The 9-year-old set a goal to collect 100 Halloween costumes by Oct. 15, and must collect 83 more costumes before her deadline.

"Half of the costumes I'm going to deliver to the City Mission of Pittsburgh for the kids who want to trick or treat but can't afford a costume," Grace announced.

The City Mission will give the costumes to Avis Arbor Homeless Shelter. The other portion of costumes will be delivered to Children's Hospital UPMC of Pittsburgh.

"Many of the kids there can't get out to trick or treat, but it doesn't mean they can't dress up and go room to room, or have someone come to their room to give them special treats," Grace said.

New or gently used costumes are being accepted. For every costume donated, Grace n'Motion will donate 10 cents to The City Mission of Pittsburgh. I believe every bit helps. For more information, visit Grace's website at www.gracenmotion.com
