Heritage Valley Announces 2012 Officers, Welcomes New Board Members

New directors took office as of Jan. 1.

 

The has added two new local members to its five-member board of directors. 

New members Dr. Qurashia (Corrie) Manjoo, and attorney John J. Edson have joined the board for 2012, effective Jan. 1.

Current officers include Scott Elste, chairman; Greg Smith, vice chairman; and Lynn Vescio, secretary and treasurer.

Dr. Corrie Manjoo, MPH, is a phlebologist dedicated to the treatment of venous insufficiency with Heritage Valley VeinCareat the Heritage Valley Heart & Vascular Center office in . Manjoo graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland; completed her rotating internship at Northdale Hospital, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa; and a residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Toledo, OH.

She is board certified in internal medicine and has a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology of Chronic Disease) from the University of Pittsburgh, where she worked prior to training in the field of phlebology. She serves on the board for and is a former board member of the Home and School Association at  and , an organization dedicated to addressing risky behavior in area youth. She and her husband, Dr. Jas Sandhu, reside in .

John J. Edson, an attorney with a Sewickley office, focuses on commercial real estate, corporate, litigation and estates and trusts matters. Edson earned his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Tufts University. Edson resides in Sewickley with his wife, Eileen, and three children.

The boards of directors of the Heritage Valley Beaver Foundation also added new leaders to the board for 2012. New board members are Pat Gallagher, Raymond DeMarco and George Mistovich Jr., DMD.  

The board is also composed of Thomas Leydig, chairman; Bob Terwilliger, vice chairman; Tammy Zelenko, secretary; and Fred Clerici, treasurer. 

Pat Gallagher is founder and chief executive officer of PGT Trucking Inc. in Monaca.  With more than 1000 units and 29 terminals, PGT is ranked one of the leading flatbed carriers in the nation. Gallagher is a board member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Laurel Highlands Boy Scouts Council. Gallagher lives in .

Raymond DeMarco is a licensed nursing home administrator for Providence Care Center, a 180-bed, long-term care facility in Beaver Falls. He also is an instructor at Penn State-Beavercampus in Center Township, teaching Personal Care Home & Assisted Living credentialing courses.  He taught at Penn State’s College of Human Development. DeMarco received his master’s degree in health research amd administration from the University of Cincinnati and resides in Brighton Township.

Dr. George Mistovich Jr. is a dentist associated with Brodhead Dental in Center Township and with Drs. Wichmann and Hamerski in Chippewa Township. Mistovich is the school dentist for Aliquippa School District and Seneca Valley School District.  He received his degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and is a member of the Serbian National Federation. He and his wife reside with their daughter, Julianna, in Center Township.
