Festivities run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Henle Park.

You don’t need a green thumb to attend sixth annual Autumn Fest — Treasures in the Park.

Festivities run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Henle Park with a variety of activities that include pony rides, a petting zoo and raffles, along with crafters, artists, a flea market and lots of food.

“It’s sort of an all-purpose event,” said Judy Fulton, a Garden Club member. “It’ll be fun.”

Saturday's festival is the garden club’s annual fall fundraiser, which raises money to support the club’s efforts as well as scholarship funds for a student.

One of the festival's biggest highlights is an 11 a.m. performance by the North Allegheny Fiddlers.

Fulton said the student musicians are in grades 6 through 12 and quite talented, participating in a weeklong workshop during the summer months to hone their skills.

“Tunes are taught and learned in the traditional aural style, meaning by ear and without the use of written notes,” she said.

Local folk musician Mark Tamsula leads the students with a variety of styles, including Scottish, Irish, Old Timey, Scandinavian and Cajun.

Fulton said the garden club would have a table that will be selling pine cone ornaments, pumpkins, fresh cornstalks and gourds.

For children, there will be arts and crafts, along with pony rides and the petting zoo from Party Ponies and Farm Friends. Other highlights include the raffle baskets, Autumn Queen drawing, the concession stand and food vendors.

volunteers will be on hand to greet attendees and let them view the fire truck, Fulton said.

Fulton said food would include homemade favorites like haluski, and catered Italian treats from Mama D’s. Half Nyche in Sewickley donated hot dogs, Snyders of Hanover donated chips, and Janet Daugherty is donating plants for sale.
