Time to Register Your Pooch for the Pet Parade

The annual Sewickley Unleashed parade is open to individuals, groups and puppeteers.

The big highlight of is the Pet Parade. 

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the parade will move through the streets of Sewickley giving pets their day to shine. 

The cost is $5 per pet if purchased in advance, or $10 per pet if purchased on the day of the event.  The parade is open to any animal that can be put on a leash and all proceeds support the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society.

There are different ways to enter the Pet Parade — as an individual, as a group, or as a puppeteer. There is no additional fee for group registration — as the cost is only per pet entered within the group.

Prizes will be given to both "individuals" and "groups" in the following categories:

  • Best Costume
  • Best Doggie Family
  • Best Float
  • Best Non-Canine
  • Most Creative Group

If you don't have a pet, that's no problem. Registration is also open for Puppeteers to join the parade. Wear a giant puppet costume while marching for your organization or just for fun. You're sure to attract some attention. Puppets are limited to the first 10 people who apply. The registration fee is $10.

In addition to the parade march, all participants will receive a “wag bag” filled with coupons, doggie treats and more. 

Registration begins at 10 a.m before the parade starts in the parking lot off Blackburn Road. Winners will be announced at 11 a.m. following the parade.
