Get Out: Interflow, Open House and Three Rivers Romance Writers

Experience the Interflow

When/Where: 8 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at Sweetwater Center for the Arts, 200 Broad St., Sewickley.

Why Go: Experience piano keys, brush strokes and dance moves as they become one during a live improvisational multimedia performance. Music and artwork available for purchase. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Montessori Children's Community Open House

When/Where: 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at Montessori Children's Community, 474 Chadwick St., Sewickley.

Why Go: Tour newly renovated classrooms, meet dedicated faculty and see first hand why a Montessori Education is the right educational experience for your child.  Preschool through eighth Grade. For more information call 412-741-8982

Three Rivers Romance Writers presents author Stephanie Keyes

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Sewickley Public Library.

Why Go: Three Rivers Romance Writers will host Author Stephanie Keyes at their next meeting. Keyes will be giving a presentation on the craft topic, “Show Don’t Tell”.  TRRW will begin its meeting at 10 a.m. followed by Keyes' presentation sometime between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

Admission: Free


WearWoof's Benefit Sale

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at the WearWoof Shop, 1105 Rochester Road.

Why Go: WearWoof Shop is turning new and gently used better women's second-hand fashion into funding and support for local animal shelters and rescues. The Benefit Sale will feature fabulous deals with 20 percent of the proceeds of Saturday's sale going to the Western PA Humane Society.

Pittsburgh's Hidden Treasures

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug.25 at Senator John Heinz History Center.   

Why Go: Nearly 40 appraisers, including experts from Christie's, the world's largest fine arts auction house, will assess the historical significance and monetary value of visitors’ items at the sixth annual event. 

Admission: free for History Center members and included with regular admission for non-members: $15 for adults, $13 for seniors (age 62+), $6 for students and children (age 6-17), and free for children (age 5 and under).
